Quest Glitch - Blood on the ice

I can't seem to get Blood on the ice to start?! I play on a PS3 and have updated to 1.4. I'm currently in the middle of the Dark Brotherhood questline. I have already broken into Calixtos house. (not sure if this is why I'm glitched). I have the key to Hjerim but nothing happens when I go in and pick up pamphlets. Not sure what to do.

Question: Did you start this quest before the patch was installed?

From memory, I think you need to go see Calixto first, then show the pamphlets to the lady that walk around talking about the murders.

OR... are you saying you can't get the pamphlets at all?

Have you checked every piece of "evidence" in the house? Have you checked-out the "wardrobe" door?

I actually broke in before 1.4 but tried to get quest to trigger after 1.4 and midway through Dark Brotherhood. I can get into Hjerim but when I'm there I see some odd indicator to investigate but nothing happens when I try. I picked up pamphlets hoping that would trigger quest to begin. Nope. Picked up journals. Again, nada. Got strange amulet, no trigger. Not sure what to do to get quest in my quest log.

Yikes...

The only thing I can say is to try to talk to Ulfric's diminutive lapdog again... and I hope this gets solved.

I seem to remember hearing something about that quest line being blocked if you have completed the dark brotherhood quest line. Have you completed that quest line? At any point did you come upon a dead body in the Windhelm Cemetary and a bunch of people standing around talking about it? I think that is the official spot where it's supposed to kick off. That is where I received the quest anyway.

I had the same issue on the 360. I ended up just not going into Windhelm(?) for a very long time, enough time to basically let the quest "reset", then it triggered. Only triggers at night, the killing happened more toward the back of the courtyard than near the inn. I also had the dubious pleasure of Investigate the Murder Scene (or whatever) not trigger for completion until after I finally killed Calixtos.
