To further brag about the bad-assiness of my character, I'll point out that there are two dragons, including my first Elder, and I dispatched them both.

I had the same thing when I first went up there...and I also had to dispatch waves of undead. Not fun. I died once, but the second attempt I was able to kite them enough to keep healed.
