Who are your favorite Skyrim NPCs?

OOH! OR... Bang, Marry, Kill?
(Probably will be banned for posting that, but I guess it'll just serve as a warning to other adventurous forumites.)

As far as "remembering fondly", I'm partial to Alvor, Hadvar's uncle in Riverwood who teaches the basics of smithing when you first start the game after escaping with Hadvar. Kind of a father figure. I always make sure to defend him when Riverwood comes under dragon attack.

As far as "KILLMURDERDESTROY", then it's gotta be Grelod the Kind, the evil orphanage lady in Riften. Talk about murder without consequence! You can slice her to ribbons with impunity, and the children will cheer you!

Favorite NPC in Skyrim would probably be Lydia, even though she is dead in my game. She was a good and faithful companion that always carried my "burdens" haha.

I've said it before, but I LOVE Rune - the Thieves Guild dude who's like, "HEY!!! *duel Shooter McGavin finger-pistols* ...how's it going?"

I have been shacked up with Aela for some time now. I feel like she understands me and she is SO enthusiastic when I ask for that home cooked meal. Actually, I selected her because of her sneak and archery abilities (very high level). My first character was a tank so while she was hanging back with the bow I was charging in with the shield up like a bull dozer. VERY effective against dragons.

In my current play-through I have not married. I did date Jenessa a couple of times but she was mauled by a bear and I have been in mouring ever since. I will never love again...

Favorite - Lydia - we spent a lot of time together in the first 100+ hours of play... haven't used her recently - but a good companion for a mage and loyal and not annoying...

Bang - Aela the Huntress - no explanation required

Marry - Sylgja in shor's stone - beautiful nord girl from a small miner's town. Pull her out of the mine, move her into the big city and she'll treat you right. (PS i tried marrying aela but it just didn't feel right watching her stir a cooking pot...) eh...

Kill - that jester guy that comes through the Dark Brotherhood quest - for sure...

Bang - Marcurio & Onmund... at the same time.

Marry - Erik the Slayer (SWEETHEART!)
Re-Marry (if/when Erik runs in front of an Arrow Attack) - Brynjolf... you KNOW he's loaded.

Booty Call - The half of the Imperial Soldiers that have Fenris' voice. *purr*

Murder - Cicero.

Yup. Same time.

I'm pretty sure I can get them to go for it.

My favorite companion so far is Jenassa for my sneaky character. She's really helped me out in a number of jams. Kind of wished I married her instead of Ysolda...

Erandur is my battlemage bro. I've had him as my companion for something like 100 hours, and I can't imagine playing Skyrim without him.

Gabriella
"What a curious question. Well, I enjoy moonlit nights, taking long walks on the beach, knitting and unicorns. In fact, I once took a seaside stroll, on a moonlit night, and discovered a unicorn... which I proceeded to stab in the throat with a crochet needle. I'm a woman of refined, yet simple tastes."

that line is awesome

I love quite a few of them. I really like Alvor's family, they're so believable.

But if I have to pick a certain few, I might say..... Cicero, Angeir, Paarthunax, Alduin, and...... the Kahjiit Caravans.

* Paarthunax is awesome. This is a dragon that survived for centuries, suppressed his dark dragon urges, and lead the GReybeards just so one day he may help the lesser races defeat Alduin.

* Angeir just because I like him. If I was Dovahkiin, I would probably live with the Greybeards after killing Alduin. Learn the way of the voice and gain the wisdom of the dragons.

* Alduin because he's badass. Guy shows up and immediately starts killing and destroying EVERYTHING! Plus, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have seen the GLORIOUS BEAUTY OF SOVNGARDE! Seriously, that place was AMAZING.

* Kahjiit Caravans. I don't know why, I just like them. They travel across Skyrim, they aren't welcome but they are one of the most welcoming groups I've met. Sure, it's probably because they want my money, but they like conversation, so who knows.

* and Cicero. I don't know a lot of people who likes Cicero. Most think he gets really annoying really fast. But I like him! He's freakin crazy and bizarre, and I can't get enough of that stuff. Oh, bother and befuddle!

Ok, I think I may have found my favorite NPC yesterday. It's the guy who owns & runs the Winking Skeever in Solitude.

His dialogue is just too hilarious.

"Why is this place called the Winking Skeever?"

"Well, as it turns out, I had a pet Skeever when I was a kid, and it winked."

"Well I guess that's as good a reason as any."

"I thought so."

-----------------

I about laughed my ass off. I don't know why I found that to be so hilarious. All of the other shops that have weird names usually have some weird explanation behind them. But this one was just quick and straight to the point, while the guy was being really jolly about telling me.

Go ask him about it, see if you think it's as funny as I do.

Ulfric, i think his voice is phenomenal. I always side with stormcloaks just to hear his voice.
