Oh Lydia, you crazy racist

Just remembered in my aforementioned quest at North Watch (where I discovered Lydia can now barely carry the burdens she is sworn to) there was a moment where the courtyard was cleared and I was stood amongst the bodies as Lydia in her usual psychotic rage had already made her way up to the fort's battlements and was mindlessly swinging at the archer guards. I left her to it as I was watching outside to the gates and some way off to the southwest a dragon seemingly attacking nothing (it turned out to be a snow bear, but that's another story).

As I was stood I could hear Lydia's war yells and mixed in with the usual "Yeeaaaarrrgh!" and "you won't get the best of me!"s she also threw in a bunch of "Skyrim's for Nords!" and something about killing all "your kind"

Skyrim's for the Nords? What about me Lydia? Your redguard thane? Seems a bit odd that she has an obvious stormcloak bias yet will happily follow me into battle for the empire as and when required. Even worse I'm going to go ahead and assume she would yell the same if I was a high elf myself.

Yeah, a lot of the characters in this game suffer from identity disorder. One of my dialogue options when entering an Orc stronghold for the first time was "Out of my way, pigface". I'm an Orc. I suppose Bethesda was giving me the option of being a racial sellout, but I would have preferred something more appropriate for the character...

Last night I fell out with the Markarth guard (by "fell out with" I mean spotted killing one of them for my city shield challenge) anyway while I was letting hell fly dual wielding Mehrune's Razor and a daedric sword in a game I knew now I'd have to reload I heard Lydia (who had travelled miles away to assault an archer) yell "you're a disgrace to your kind!"

Yes Lydia, as opposed to us who have just killed an entire town's guard and any number of bystanders (sorry Hroki) because of my botched assassin job to rob a shield for my wall.

And to think, people are in an uproar because they can't marry her. Racial supremacy must be pretty attractive in Skyrim. ha ha
