Ok folks, I have to do this...Top 5 games of all time!!! Since I started this madness, I will show my list here, so please, no mocking...I am fairly old school, so do not judge until you have played these classics!!
1) Goldeneye N64
2) Final Fantasy VII
3) Diablo
4) Final Fantasy X
5) ES V: Skyrim (and it is creeping up the list!!)
Honorable mentions...Suikoden, Secret of Mana, CoD Modern Warfare, Xenogears, and Syphon Filter

Re: Favorite Games - All Time!!
Super Metroid remains my favorite video game of all time.
I consider it the Skyrim of side-scrolling platformers.
(It won't be long before Skyrim itself becomes my second favorite of all time. If I am ever able to finish the main quest, that is.)

Hmmm... this requires some serious thought for an entire Top 5, but I DO KNOW MY top I'll give it a shot (subject to change with my mood:
5. X-Men Legends II. Yes, it is a "Punch Punch Kick" game, but it was the gateway for my love of X-Men. It introduced me to the Ragin' Cajun! *squee* Literally, I've played it over 18 times all the way through.
4. Dragon Age (Origins AND II)... don't judge me.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This was my 1st leap into the Zelda games& I loved every minute of it.
2. SSX3. For you young'uns it's a snowboarding game. And awesome. I struggled with making it my #1 game, but then I remembered...
1. The Sims. Again, don't judge. I just received Sims 3 the other day & I will be starting to play tomorrow. This will be my 1st break from Skyrim since November.

Re: Favorite Games - All Time!!
Its extremely hard to order this but here goes. I'll lose sleep thinking about this.
5. Ocarina of Time - This game was the gateway to becoming a hardcore gamer.
4. Morrowind - This was my discovery of my favorite genre of games. Open world sandbox western rpgs.
3. Kotor - Hands down, the greatest story ever told in a video game. My first kiss with Bioware.
2. Halo 2 - The ORIGINAL hardcore online competitive game. This invented the modern day shooters. Spent vast hours on this.
And last but not least.
1. Skyrim - The most monumental game of our time. The sheer content, detail, and beauty of everything Skyrim does is absolutely unprecedented. Bethesda is running away with the Western RPG genre. Nobody else competes. It is the future of the video game. Its frightening to think about how much Bethesda improves with each installment.

Re: Favorite Games - All Time!!
hmmmm, this is tough, but I think I can create a good top 5.
5. The Lord of the Rings Online - As I'm still playing this game it seems kind of odd that it would be in my top 5, but it was my first and only MMO that I've played. It also brought the greatest fantasy world created, and my favorite book, to life...sort of.
4. The Sims - I spent HOURS just trying to create a great looking balcony over my front door. Tons of great playtime in all of the Sims games. Sims 3 is by far the best addition.
3. X-wing/Tie-Fighter - This is the first game me and my dad played together when I was young, so it holds a special place in my life. Plus, who didn't yell out "Red 5 Standing By" when going on missions?
2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - This was the first RPG game I ever played, and it helped develop both my love for gaming and music. I used to spend hours just learning to play all the songs from this game - theme songs included - on my saxophone. I got this for my 12th birthday, and I still pop in the cartridge every so often. I have played this game so much that I have a save file that completes the game where I did not pick up a single heart container or the powerup that 1/2s damage right before Gannondorf. One hit from that guy and you were dead!
1. Final Fantasy VII - Cliche I know, but the story, music and game design still stick with me. I had the time clock maxed out before I finished the first disk. I almost cried when Aries died...due in part to the fact she was lvl 99 when it happened. This game will have a lasting place among all video games, no matter the genre for many more years to come.

Re: Favorite Games - All Time!!
Number 5:Star Fox 64
Probably the game I have played the most times out of any game to date. And I would go back and play it again in a heart beat if I had a working N64
Number 4:Call of Cthulu:Dark Corners of the Earth/Vampire The Masquerade:Bloodlines
A tie for this spot. Both of the games have a great atmospheric feeling to them. And I'm a big RPG nut
Number 3:Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas/The Legend of Zelda:Majora's Mask
Another tie between my favoirte GTA and the game that gave me my fascination with time travel.
Number 2:Resident Evil 4
A game I love so much I got both the Gamecube and PS2 versions
Number 1:The Elder Scrolls 3:Morrowind
I bet you were expecting Skyrim?Yes its a fun game, but I feel Morrowind in superior in many ways.

I TOTALLY yelled out "Red 5 Standing By". I still do when I'm trying to merge in traffic.

Ugh...that was definitely a defining moment in gaming and for Square Soft, and I feel your pain. I had her up there too, just not as high. I still remember the music during bone village when that happened. It stuck with me too!

Okay... I have a confession: I love Pikmin.
I sing along with the little guys, "Hell. Yeah. We're THE PIK-min!"

Pikman?!
I never played Pikman. When they were debuting it at E3...way the hell back in 2001 or 2002, they said you have to organize them so they can complete challenges and ultimately put their ship back together so they can get off the planet. Looked boring to me. Is it cool?

It sounds like the most retarded game ever, but it actually isn't. It's a puzzle-solver. Brain-candy.Evarwyn wrote:I never played Pikman. ...you might not understand. *snicker*
Re: Favorite Games - All Time!!
Mass Effect series (Books are good too)
Dragon Age Origins 1 & 2 (I'm with you Lebeau)
Halo (All the halo games. Books too. I love the story.)
Elder Scrolls (Skyrim-Oblivion-Morrowind)
Star Wars KOTR & TOR
Dungeon Defenders Not a best of all time, but fun at the moment. SW:TOR has put a stop to me playing everything else right now though.
(I love playing tower defense games on my iPhone. That said I've really been getting into Dungeon Defenders. I have it on Xbox, PS3, & PC)

Re: Favorite Games - All Time!!
For me, this is almost impossible, so I'm gonna have to give my 5 favorite RPGs.
5. Skyrim. It's the first open RPG that I almost entirely RP. It truely makes the game so many times better.
4. Mass Effect. 'nuff said.
3. Lunar Silver Star Story Complete.
2. You're gonna hate me here: Fallout 3. I only quit because I felt as if I did absolutely everything.
1. KOTOR. It is the single best game I have ever played on console. Done.
Honorable Mention: Neverwinter Nights. It was the first computer game I played for days on end. It got me into RPGs. I remember spending hours just creating my character.
